Wingbot is Growing Up!

What’s changing?
This is our first super big update since the launch of our site back in 2009! Wingbot after all is getting older! Upgrades are in order! =) During this update, we’ll be shifting a lot of content around. While you may continue to explore the store and shop, there may be a few inconveniences like the category page numbers meshing together or some visual issues.

When and for how long?
The update has actually already been started. It will be fully ready to go during the middle of September. (Maybe longer, we’ll keep you updated!)

Why are we doing this?
For one, the updates we’re putting into place will mean your shopping experience will be more enjoyable and simpler. Second, we’re always looking for ways to make your time on Wingbot.com more enjoyable with interesting blog posts and such. Here are some of the cool new features you can expect on the new Wingbot.com.

Blog:

We are changing out the current blog design for a more updated one. The new blog will have new bloggers including myself posting cool stuff from different cultures! In addition, the new design makes it easier to navigate and share posts. It also connects WBTV and our Wingbot Store for a more enjoyable experience!

Wingbot Store:

The store will have a new design as well, updated to a newer and more mature look. The categories will be redesigned to have more yet less. On the front page, we will be featuring our blog, our brand new WbTv, and ad space. So if you guys have anything you want to advertise or we can swap ad spaces, then contact us at wingbotinc@gmail.com.

Some old categories will be cut and new ones will take their place. We will also consolidate the ones with less stuff into drop down menus. This makes surfing around the site easier. Within the category pages, there will be even more specialized options to shop from that help shopping for friends easier. Examples are under $10, gender based, and personality based.

WBTV:

Eh I would tell you but it’s a secret. ^_^ You’ll see when it’s up.

It’s The Good Life!

In life, there are many opportunities that are given to you and it is up to the person to take it. To sum up a good portion of my life, quite a bit has been taken by regret. Fell in love with someone, let her go. Offered to be the main in a video, let someone else take it. Things like that I realize now isn’t being nice. It’s called being a little “Beach” if you get my drift.

At this point in time. I realize that life is really actually to short to let other people live it for you. If there is something available to you, grab it and do it. Don’t think about it. I can’t put enough emphasis on don’t think about it. If you think about it, you’ll get super psyched out. You’ll think of all the “what-ifs”. Maybe you’ll think of too many ways to say something and then it’ll get too complicated. Maybe you’ll be to paranoid that s/he doesn’t like your personality.

It isn’t about all that stuff. It’s about what you want. I’m sorry to say but forget modesty and such. Take what you want when you want it! Of course don’t mow a guy down with a monster truck or fire a nuclear warhead at his toilet to he blows sky high to get what you want. But if life offers it to you, then it is for you, no one else. A girl you like asks you to go clubbing? Go! Who the flying pelican cares if you don’t dance? The girl most definitely probably can’t dance. And besides, in a club, the only space you have is basically from your left waist to the right. So that doesn’t matter. Someone asks if you want to go bungee jumping, go for it! It’s a good conversation piece and a life experience! The best kind of life is the Good Life and you need to take charge to actually experience it. Don’t lose it to other people. Be greedy and take it for yourself…just try not to kill someone for it. Or anything else illegal. Please. lol.

P.S. Oh and PLEASE don’t say someone else beat me to it. For example if it was a job and the “rival” got a call but not the actual job, STFU and go try to win the dude over! Works with women. If Facebook hasn’t declared a relationship, IT AIN’T OFFICIAL MY BROTHA! =)

Wedding Gone Right!

There are few things in life that gets me teary eyed. And I was so sure that a wedding wasn’t on the list…till I was up there watching my brother get married. While I was watching my sister in law tear, I teared but when I saw my big bro who was always pretty tough, I cracked. I didn’t cry mind you but I had more than a couple tears drop. ANYWAYS.

The wedding was a bit all over the place. The groomsman and bridesmaids weren’t sure how to walk, people weren’t sure where to place the wedding gifts and finally…it rained on the outside area where they were to get married.

Sounds like it ended terribly but in reality it ended wonderfully. The groomsmen and bridesmaids were ready to go after a small rehearsal we were good to go. We went around telling people who to hand the gifts to. And the rain made it so that my brother and now sister in law can enjoy the wonderfully intimate surroundings of the inner building. It was closer which gave it a tighter feel and made us feel more as a family than anything else. The lighting gave a warm faint glow and the minister was a wonderful sport and was wonderful at his job. In the end even the smallest things that can ruin a day, can be turned around and changed into the best day ever. =)

The fence

Ok. Imagine for a second there’s this place that you want to go. It’s not really a place, maybe it’s a state of mind? Or maybe it’s really a place. Either way, let’s just call this place “Hogwarts” for now.

So you want to go to Hogwarts and badly. I mean, it has everything you want. For example, let’s call it “magic!” MAGIC! Where you come from the magic isn’t the same. But Hogwarts has magical creatures and items and everybody’s just got it. But you don’t.

You can’t go to Hogwarts. They won’t let you in. They aren’t really being mean, but they just can’t let you in because you’re not magical.

You could fake it. You could get a fake wand and “pretend” to be magical. After all, after reading all of Harry Potter, you pretty much know you can about the wizarding world. But the moment someone asks you to do something magical, then it’s clear that you don’t belong there. You might even get kicked out.

So you feel rejected and that feeling really sucks. All you can do is re-read the books, watch the movies, play the video games, and go to Orlando to experience a simulated version of the wizarding world.

But it’s still not that same. That’s how I feel right now XD.

No, I’m not really talking about the wizarding world XD. Although this reminds me of how I felt when I 11 and didn’t get my Hogwarts letter. Actually, scratch the “imagine” part. I still feel sad that I can’t be part of the wizarding world.

For now, I’ve got Pottermore. AND I HAVE EARLY ACCESS AND I’M SO EXCITED!!

(But about my thickly veiled metaphor, yeah no, still very >:| about that.)

Shortcake’s Big Intro Post!

Hi there :D!! The Boss has so kindly invited me to be a blogger for WingBot and I’m super excited about it! I thought I’d start by introducing myself.

I have a lot of names and nicknames but you can call me Shortcake (as in my favorite dessert). And here’s some random trivia:

- I am an out and proud femme lesbian. I’m actually a lot more complex than that, but this is the easiest way to describe myself. That said, I don’t tolerate race/gender/orientation/etc. related intolerance >:|!

- I have an eclectic taste in music. (But everyone says that right XD?) Right now I’m listening to a mix of MissTER, Dir en grey, Imogen Heap, BoA, Daft Punk, and Yoko Kanno.

- I love fashion. I mostly like girly, princess-like fashion, so I follow Lolita and sometimes Gyaru. But I also like punky fashions, vintage fashions, and anything that catches my fancy really.

- I just graduated from college and, while I was there, I studied Anthropology, Film, and Asian Studies. So I like learning about other cultures and I sometimes analyze films while I watch them. It’s actually a little annoying sometimes because I can’t as easily enjoy films XD.

- I love traveling. I love seeing new places, going on adventures, and meeting all kinds of people. Right now my dream trips are Disneyworld (which should be happening very soon :D!!!), Japan, and France. But I also plan on visiting Taiwan (right Mr. The Boss >:|!?!), Hong Kong, India, and England. Actually, anywhere is fine as long as it’s interesting :D!

Ever Hate Yourself?

Ever have someone you would do the world for but for some reason that person doesn’t see you as someone worthy or good enough for her/him? This song does a good job expressing my feelings in those situations. Sometimes I’m just not good enough looking but I brush it off as if it was nothing…but deep down it hurts. Same with when someone insults you for not singing well enough or drawing well enough. Maybe it’s working hard enough or whatever. Regardless of it being a joke, sometimes it still hurts the feelings.

But forget all that. Who cares what they say. What they say that hurts you is usually because they are jealous of one or more aspects of what you have. They think you haircut is stupid and retarded? They want it. They think your fashion style is way to crazy without saying why? They want your clothes and are envious. They think you’re not that pretty? They just want to be as pretty as you.
